Frank Lloyd Wright Dissertation
The following link leads to my 2018 dissertation, The Aesthetics of Frank Lloyd Wright’s Organic Architecture: Hegel, Japanese Art, and Modernism. This dissertation explores an often neglected, but critical aspect of Wright’s organic theory, that of the aesthetic basis of his architecture. This subject is explored here through examination of Hegel’s theory of aesthetics as it relates to Wright, Japanese art and what Wright saw in it, and by contrast, European Modernism. It also has a chapter on a model theory of organic architecture which follow along these lines.
